Since 2005, the Gartner Group publishes every year in July a new version of its "hype cycle" report. This is an analysis of the main emerging technologies that are positioned on a cycle trends. The annual report describes the trends or ICT "emergence" in period slots of 2 years , 5 years or 10 years. The Hype Cycle model applied in the annual report is a graphic representation of innovative technologies at a given moment of a technology life cycle: the cycle of trends. Hype can be translated as trend, fashion, media hype or mattraquage.
